The Trustees

As a steward of distinctive and dynamic places of both historic and cultural value, The Trustees is the nation’s first and Massachusetts’ largest preservation and conservation nonprofit, and its landscapes and landmarks continue to inspire discussion, innovation, and action today as they did in the past. Supported by members, friends and donors, The Trustees’ more than 100 reservations are destinations for residents, members, and visitors alike, welcoming millions of guests annually.

Volunteers

Volunteers are at the heart of The Trustees – communities of individuals, organizations and companies committed to preserving and protecting the places we love for all to enjoy. Volunteerism has been a cornerstone of The Trustees since 1891 in conserving land for people and continues to play a role in shaping its future.

As a volunteer, you will help protect the distinct character of our communities and inspire a commitment to our special places. As a valued member of our team, part of our conservation community, and a representative of The Trustees, you’ll have opportunities to explain who we are and what we do while participating in various projects and events. Volunteers participate in stewardship and agricultural projects, skill-based projects, coastal conservation and citizen science monitoring, and help run events and programs across our properties.

There are many volunteer opportunities at locations across Massachusetts. Opportunities are available for Individual volunteers, Corporate groups, and Community groups. Learn more about the specific current needs and how to register on the website, here: https://volunteer.thetrustees.org/
